Well this is quite a specialist question but I'll ask anyways. . . Basically I'm wanting to perhaps purchase Traktor Pro DJ software, going from mixing vinyls to mixing MP3s. What I would like to know is exactly what equipment I would need. Obviously I need a laptop, but does it need to be any specific specification? Also what leads/cables will to need to connect my laptop to my DJ mixer? And finally if there are any other essentials I'd be greatful if you let me know, thanks.

I'm working on a homemade Dj sound mixer and I need to be able to use a single duplex receptacle as two separate plugs, meaning the top plug and bottom plug will be putting out two separate ac voltages. I am also a big sports guy (tried pretty much every sport) I like to explore things, my next step in life is wanting to be a DJ. I always loved music but never really wanted to be a singer and musician. So i think trying to be a DJ wouldn't hurt! So far i know i need turn tables, head phones, mixers, and an amplifier. I have a computer (two) and currently have no ipod or zune or any type of mp3. I think it would be awesome to dj parties and stuff. About how much does it cost to have every the good/beginer equipment? and if you can reccomend certain turn tables, mixers, or amps that would be great.

So I've always loved music and everyone I know says i have music in my blood. And it's true because for some reason i am always thing of music 24/7 and making random beats in my head and trying to beatbox them. I've also been oddly interested in turntables so i decided i want to start djing and producing. Mainly electronic music. So whats a good mixer that isn't too expensive that you would recomend for a beginner. Also what are good turntables for scratching and such? I'm 15 and i want to start young so that i have a lot of time to practice.

What do i need in between the equipment and laptop? Is the Native-Instruments Audio DJ 8 the same as Audio Kontrol 1 & Audio DJ 2/4 toghether?

I can play with office Speakers (cause it hooks up to my laptop) but how can I hook up the cords from big speakers? I'm a new dj and I don't know weather to start off with cd format or vinyl? If you use vinyl can you hook up your dj system to your laptop and select and que tracks? What's the negatives of using Cd player turntables? Basically, I have a Numark dm1002MKII mixer. It's every connected up right, but sometimes it will play fine, others, when the crossfader is to the left channel, only the right speaker plays,. Whereas when the crossfader is to the right, both speakers pick up,.. I've changed the phono leads, and it's still the same problem, so im guessing it's internal, i have no idea whats up though, anybody had the same problem?

Ok, so I'm trying to receive my name out there for techno nightclubs/raves in denver. But I just don't know where to start exactly. I adore dirty electro and home and artists like deadmau5 and kaskade and afrojack etc etc. Im only 19 years old and I go to raves and techno nightclubs like beta night club. I do have my possess equipment I've been practicing on every pioneer professional cdjs and mixers and I have learned cue points beat matching bpm efx and have even made my possess 45 minute demos. I am a DJ and would like to record my mixes onto the iphone, in high quality, not using the built-in mic, since there would be every the environment noise. Is there a wire/adapter and app that would let me connect my mixer via RCA (red/white stereo) cable to it and have it record my mix? I need to be able to record onto the iphone while on the road, away from a computer to record on first and then sync.

I am a beginner dj and im having a little trouble with my set up. i have a behringer djx750 mixer and it has the standard RCA output (but only one of them) now,i have to run that output to my two behringer PA speakers (which use the standard speaker 3.5 jack i believe) as well as my subwoofer. is there any nice of control box i would need to purchase in order to make this wiring easier? or what would be suggested?
